    • Accutane
Accutane is a prescription oral medication used to treat severe acne. The drug is a form of vitamin A, which reduces the amount of oil released by the skin. While Accutane has delivered amazing results for some, it's also been linked to an increased risk of depression and may cause severe, life-threatening birth defects. The manufacturer no longer produces Accutane, though generic versions of the drug still exist. Outside the U.S. it is marketed as Roaccutane.

Other common treatments include: salicylic acid peels, laser and LED therapies, photodynamic therapy (Levulan), Fraxel laser, and intense pulsed light (IPL)

    • Chemical Peel
Chemical peels remove old skin so that new layers can grow in their place. This controlled removal ranges in strength, from superficial peels that use mild acids to deep peels that penetrate several layers of skin. Depending the type of peel you get, you might have a reaction similar to a sunburn, which may involve scaling, swelling, and blisters. This may last anywhere from three to 14 days, after which time your skin should be smoother, brighter, and softer

It’s most commonly used on the face and neck, but body treatments can also include arms, abdomen, thighs, and other areas that could benefit from tissue contraction. • Laser Surgery
Lasers are used in cosmetic procedures for everything from skin resurfacing to teeth whitening to liposuction to vision correction.  All lasers are either ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers remove the top layer of your skin, and treatments typically require some recovery time while skin heals. Non-ablative lasers are less invasive, and use heat to stimulate cells to thicken the underlying collagen resulting in improved skin tone and elasticity.
