What is reshaping chin, cheek or jaw?
Plastic surgery is performed to reshape the chin, cheek or jaw.

Here is an overview of the process:
When the individual is under anesthesia, the surgeon begins by making a cut either in the natural wrinkle line just below the chin or inside the mouth between the gum and lower lip.
By slowly stretching the tissue, the surgeon creates a space where the implant can be implanted.
The implant is made of synthetic materials that resemble the normal tissue typically found in the chin, and is available in various sizes and shapes.
After implantation, the surgeon uses small sutures to close the incision. When the incision is in the mouth, there is no scar. If the incision is under the chin, the wound is usually invisible.
After chin cosmetic surgery
Immediately after surgery, the surgeon will usually apply a dressing to stay for two to three days.
The person will experience some sensitivity and pain, and the surgeon will prescribe medications to help relieve postoperative discomfort.
Chewing will probably be restricted immediately after chin surgery, and the person may need a few days of fluid and soft foods after the surgery.
Most patients feel tired after surgery, but this usually decreases within a week.
After about six weeks, most of the swelling disappears and one can begin to see the results. The surgeon may recommend avoiding strenuous activities for the first few weeks after surgery. Normal activities can resume after about 10 days.
