KINDS OF REMOVABLE PROSTHODONTICS
Partial Dental Prosthodontics
Partial prosthetics have different types: Full-acrylic partial (flipper) prostheses are commonly used as a temporary treatment in many cases.
Another type of partial prosthodontics is the cobalt cream that has been used as a treatment for being toothless (those who have lost their posterior teeth, their hindquarters, and do not have a fixed base for prosthetic), or who do not want to use fixed prosthodontics. These types of prosthetics include acrylic (the pink part of the tooth, “prosthodontic’s gum”) and metal alloys, the main part of which is consists of cobalt cream. Usually, due to the metallic nature of the clips, they have an unpleasant appearance. Because of that, another types of partial prosthodontics are designed. In this type the metal part of is the same color as tooth, and is called “felexite” partial.

Full prosthodontics
People who have lost all their teeth, like grandfathers and grandmothers.
The cheapest treatment for being toothless.
Full prosthodontics have two types, regular and soft gum.
Full prosthodontic is consists of two sections, teeth, which are white, and the pink section of the prosthodontic which is called prosthodontic’s gum.
This prosthodontic’s gum should be tough and stable so it can do its job.
Soft gum is 1-2mm thick and it’s used for a short time under the tough gum, untill the swelling is gone.
It’s much harder to keep the soft gum clean and it’s more likely for bacteria to grow there.
If the soft gum was permanent, it would be much easier to use at first, but not only have less efficient, but also damages the remained gum in the patient’s mouth.
