LASEK or PRK surgery
In PRK surgery, after removing the outer shell of the cornea (epithelium), the surface of the cornea is ablated with an excimer laser device. The only difference between LASEK and PRK is that in LASIK, the outer shell of the cornea (epithelium) is loosened with diluted alcohol and returned to the surface of the eye after excimer laser cutting is performed. Due to the better results of PRK operation, LASEK operation is not rarely performed nowadays. In both of these operations, a bondage contact lens is placed on the cornea at the end of the operation.
